About Mark

Mark Clark, entered the freelance world in 1980. His production company, MC Productions, soon gave way to Cinema Ventures, a funding company that co produced the feature film “Billy Galvin”. The motion picture starred Karl Malden, Joyce Van Patton, and Lenny Van Dohlen. In 1986 Mark Clark reorganized his production company into the service only organization, MC Lighting & Production Services. Mark's lighting design helped shape the look of national and international documentaries, television series, local and national commercials, feature films, as well as a host of other motion picture and video projects. In 2005, MCL acquired the lighting and grip assets of Plus 8 Digital. With this equipment, MC Lighting & Production Services was incorporated into The Lighting Zone, Inc. and continues to provide lighting and grip equipment throughout the southwest.

Co producer Mark Clark's collaboration brought the Last Man Club to the screen. It stars James MacKrell, Kate French, William Morgan Sheppard and Barry Corbin. The motion picture swept the awards at the 49th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film & Video Festival taking home the best picture award along with many others.

As associate producer, Mark helped to craft the look of Alternate Realities starring Tom Sizemore, Christopher Judge and Elle LaMont.

His current projects include the Award Winning screenplay Cuda. This is an action adventure film set in Houston and deals with Hispanic gangs and their culture of violence. Our hero is a classic character. After leaving behind his traditional values, including marriage in favor of cohabiting, a gang in favor of going it alone, classic boxing in favor of kickboxing, and the neighborhood in favor of the world, he returns home to marry and resolve his past.

  • Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (2005)
Film (Documentary) Camera and Electrical Department Enron dives from the seventh largest US company to bankruptcy in less than a year in this tale told chronologically. The emphasis is on human drama, from suicide to 20,000 people sacked: the personalities of Ken Lay (with Falwellesque rectitude), Jeff Skilling (he of big ideas), Lou Pai (gone with $250 M), and Andy Fastow (the dark prince) dominate. Along the way, we watch Enron game California's deregulated electricity market, get a free pass from Arthur Andersen (which okays the dubious mark-to-market accounting), use greed to manipulate banks and brokerages (Merrill Lynch fires the analyst who questions Enron's rise), and hear from both Presidents Bush what great guys these are.
