And I just found out that the Indie feature that I wrote/directed/produced is now an OFFICIAL SELECTION and will be having its world premiere at Phoenix Film Festival Melbourne. To have my world premiere in Australia is a dream come true multiplied by 30. I want to help generate publicity for my film, but my connections in Australia don't really exist. So I am asking for help to connect with some film enthusiasts in the Melbourne area that can give me some advice on who to call , and a strategy on how to go about this. Because this is my first time, and I want to nail it. Thank you! My film MANHANDLERS is a dark comedy about two amoral twentysomethings that lose their baby. In response to this, they open their own muscle-for-hire business and murder their shady roommate. My trailer, in case you are interested - https://vimeo.com/160674009 Any direction you can point me in would be appreciated. Thanks fellow Stage 32'ers! Adam J Pitzler www.adampitzler.com

I met so many Aussies here on Introduce Yourself Weekend, so I'd start first by reading through the Introduce Yourself Weekend posts and finding Aussies you can network with. 2nd, here are some long time Stage 32 members that you can network with: http://ozemag.com/2013/07/18/where-to-connect-with-actors-directors-onli..., and 3rd, in the CONNECT section (top menu bar), search for publicists or Marketing/PR in your area and see who you can find to network with. Good luck!
Great start!!!! Thank you so much, I will follow up on all of this! Stage 32 is great!

But I also love action, horror, & thrillers. I heard about stage 32 when Richard Botto went on sellingyourscreenplay.com's podcast with Ashley Scott Meyers. I thought it sounded really cool. I joined Stage 32 to learn more, meet new people, and just see what's up.

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!

A group of intermediate-level locals that actually produce quality short films (not just talk about doing it). What sort of pieces do you write, and do you have any other skills related to filmmaking?

Expand commentHi, dark comedies? What's your favorite, wide-release dark comedy? I would say one of my favorites is American Beauty. I didn't go to film school so don't really know much about the mechanics of film making. Though I have to say, the more home videos I watch on fb the more I really appreciate good cinematography. I'm pretty much solely a screenwriter. I've written seven so far and am writing two new ones simultaneously which is kind of exciting for me. I've got an idea for a web tv show but haven't sunk my teeth into the script yet. I write fantasy/drama/comedy. I've got my latest script, Snake Head, entered in a couple competitions. Ever enter your scripts? How long have you been writing?

I'm currently entered into several contests, but have yet to hear back form most of them. My newest screenplay is only a couple months old since the "final polish." Writing since forever. It was an escape as an 8 year child enduring a divorce. Eventually, it became my passion.
