About Ryan

Director. Writer. Sound Artist.
Founder & CEO Spenser Productions, LLC.

I am a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the entertainment and media industry. My journey began as an office assistant for Academy Award nominated producer Lawrence Bender (Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, Inglorious Basterds). I quickly transitioned to hands-on production roles, contributing to notable projects such as Surrogates, The Town, and The Social Network. Throughout my career, I have honed my skills in sound production, working as a boom operator, sound recordist, and sound editor for independent films, documentaries, podcasts, lifestyle, and brand content.

I've drawn inspiration from the legendary sound artist team of Academy Award winner Alan Splet, and Ann Kroeber (The Black Stallion, Blue Velvet, Dead Poets Society). In a serendipitous turn of events, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Ann, recording environments and creating nuanced and evocative sound designs.

With a lifelong passion for movies and movie history, particularly in the horror genre, my love for storytelling began at a young age; armed with a family VHS camcorder, a couple of VCRs, a cassette player, and a creative spirit, I started making films long before my formal education in film production. Today, I'm taking my unique experiences, outside-the-box thinking, and experimental nature back full circle developing genre films and immersive audio narratives.
