A detective’s life unravels when a serial killer who murdered his wife twenty years earlier, resurfaces.
SYNOPSIS:
As Detective Brian Simms talks on his cell, Emery, a prostitute, hops in his car, her head drops into his lap.
Detective John Roberts, and his fiance, Karyn, a crime reporter, stare at Emery’s corpse. Bright red wax lips cover her mouth, a signature of ‘The Lip Killer’. A note between her teeth, “DO YOUR JOB…STOP ME!” John is once again being taunted by the serial who killed his young wife twenty years earlier.
Feeling guilty his daughter Allison grew up without a mother, John caters to her whims and manic episodes. Manipulative and cunning, she refuses to take her meds, hates John’s fiancé, and she's secretly sleeping with his partner.
Brian has other secret lovers, Hanna, a transvestite, is insanely jealous, and wants Brian to herself.
John begins receiving notes leading him to suspect Brian could be the 'Lip Killer'.
Allison becomes unhinged as killings mount. She spends more time with Brian, snorting cocaine, and drinking heavily.
Allison fights with Brian, passes out. Brian leaves, a man enters the home, has sex with Allison.
John’s fiancé, Karyn is murdered the night before their wedding.
Allison informs Brian she’s pregnant, but Brian can’t father a child. They fight. Allison screams she wants to kill Brian, and Brian takes off. Allison does drugs, drinks, passes out. Waking in the morning, Allison grabs Brian’s shoulder. Rolling, onto his back, eyes open, wrists slashed - Brian is dead.
Allison calls John. Rushing to Brian’s house, he sends Allison home, cleans the scene, removes signs of Allison having been there. He finds a secret panel in Brian’s walk-in closet. Filled with women’s shoes, clothing, purses, jewelry, wigs, and damning pictures. Pictures of Marcus, Donald, and Hanna, who were all murdered. Staging Brian’s bedroom with these items, John leaves.
The following day, Captain Enders informs John Brian is dead…that he killed himself…and he was the serial killer.
THREE MONTHS LATER
John confirms his date with a young woman, shares a post card that Allison sent from Germany, then heads home.
At home John prepares dinner, then races to his bedroom to shower. He quickly removes ankle wrap block heels, and a cotton floral sundress. Turning to the mirror, he gently strokes his long hair. Staring, he freezes, becomes agitated at the image looking back at him.
Detective John Roberts is the serial killer. His alter ego has become much stronger over the past twenty years and has now completely taken over. Allison doesn’t live in Germany but is tucked away in a freezer in an abandoned restaurant.
At dinner, John informs his new girlfriend…”I’m going to retire. I’m starting a whole new life.”
