Acting is a career path that I believe I was always passionately destined for. Well, having a confrontational lawyer and a righteous judge for parents, my life at home was pretty much theatrical! Kidding aside, my parents were instrumental in allowing me to pursue my dreams and aspirations regardless of the circumstances I faced. For instance, I have always been interested in acting when I was younger. My earliest exposure to acting and show business was in high school. I was also drawn to theatrical plays either as an audience member or as an actor. In fact, I would always audition for school play productions. To me, I felt I finally found what I would like to do for the rest of my life. However, after college, I chose a different career path and worked for companies like American Express and Macys West. Throughout the last two years, it dawned on me that I was unhappy with my monotonous work. I came to realize what I really wanted to do was be hands-on and be able to express myself – my passion for eccentric ideas and creativity – and create ideas for film and television. After a lot of contemplating, I firmly decided on pursuing my dreams to become a successful actress. The first thing I did was search for acting classes in San Francisco. I then discovered Shari Carlson Acting Studio. As I conversed with the owner Shari, I became instantly enthusiastic – as if the “old me” was finally back. I was inspired by Shari’s words of wisdom and encouragement as she reminded me it was never too late to pursue what our hearts desired, which to me was acting. She also motivated me to try my luck in the entertainment industry. Soon, I began my training with Shari and took both basic and advanced acting and singing classes. Eventually, luck did come and I landed my first small role in a film. The experience drove me to continue auditioning for other acting opportunities as I continued my training with Shari.
