About Edward

I come from a quarter-century-long career in automotive business management with a focus on operational excellence and end-to-end process improvement as well as individual performance and development; skills are essentially transferable into any business, including the business of show.

I have an affinity for edgy characters frequently mixed up in period drama; not drama period, because, while not all fun and games, I appreciate little bites and bits of humor. I hesitate to call my period dramas historical fiction because the future is a period, too, and I do enjoy spending some time way out there.

I have pitches, plots, and further progressed projects in times and places such as:

1596, Elizabethan England, with a brief venture to France and a slightly less brief invasion of Spain.

1888, Victorian England, more specifically, mostly London.

1911, Dreamland Amusement Park in Coney Island, New York, with a brief execution at Sing Sing and a performance or two at The Metropolitan Opera House.

1938, southern Appalachia, five years after the end of prohibition and ten years before the birth of NASCAR, when, more than the drivers, the mechanics were the real rock stars.

1945, in a non-descript yet darkly descriptive big city, the end of World War II is the beginning in the world of one private eye's war on crime.

1968, we spend a night bouncing between a dirty rust belt back alley, a former orphanage turned you-don't-want-to-know, and a happening neon diner.

And, finally, there are a handful that take place in no place like the present, a few fantasies that fast forward into the future, and even one that travels through time, time and time again.

Unique traits: I try to be tall; I'm more than relatively decent at accents but you have to give me a little time (if it's been a while, my Scottish turns into Irish then British then back to Scottish again); I'm an effective creative professional (i.e. I'm an equal and delicate balance of both "show" and "business"); I love using semicolons even if I'd don't always do it properly!
