RUNNING GUN

RUNNING GUN
By Mike Bencivenga

GENRE: Family, Western
LOGLINE:

A promising young man has his relationship and future destroyed when he befriends a troubled teenage runaway. The year is 1877. The troubled teenager is Billy the Kid.

SYNOPSIS:

RUNNING GUN tells the story of Adam Corrigan, a good kid who falls in with the ultimate 'bad crowd.' Before meeting Billy, his dreams had been to go to college in the east to study to become a doctor so that he can marry his childhood sweetheart, Jessie. But his friendship with The Kid destroys his reputation in the town and with Jessie's powerful Dad. Then, when The Kid kills the breadwinner in Adam's family, Adam must abandon his dreams of college to keep his family together. Billy the Kid goes on the run and as his crimes grow more numerous so does the price on his head. Meanwhile Adam grows more embittered by the day and, after hearing Jessie is to be sent away to finishing school, he knows what he must do. He rides out to capture the Kid and to reclaim the life he had stolen from him. Frightened for him, Jessie rides out after Adam and the two share an adventure out on the trail as they hunt for Billy and his gang. RUNNING GUN is a story of romance, redemption and revenge and the truest telling yet of the life of the notorious ‘boy bandit king.’

YES PLEASE, I already can't wait to see this!

I do think that you might be able to streamline this a touch and cut it down to one or two sentences. Even something like "A promising young man has his relationship and future destroyed when he befriends a runaway: a troubled teenager who calls himself 'Billy the Kid'."

Ooh boy, I am so excited for this.
