SYNOPSIS:

APACHE DANCE - outline CHIP FREEMAN is a career criminal recently released from jail in Savannah, and trying to go straight with the help of his common law wife LAURA. When former prison mate JOHNNY COLE approaches Chip with a quick job in Jacksonville, Chip hesitates because he knows that Johnny is a sadistic killer and drug dealer. Chip wants to leave the criminal life because he knows if he is convicted once more he’ll do hard time, and he loves Laura and wants a different life but doesn’t know how to change. Chip knows he will need money and figures that he may be able to do the job with Johnny and stop being a criminal for good. Laura discovers the crime Chip has planned, and through an emotional drug-addled confrontation she believes she has convinced Chip to abandon his plan with Johnny and stay with her. Johnny however manages to coerce Chip into the job. Chip has a secret plan, a fake gun he hopes he can use to bluff with to give him the opportunity to escape the clutches of Johnny and his criminal activities and escape to Laura and happiness. When the job in Jacksonville goes bad and gunshots are fired Chip leaves with the money believing Johnny is killed in a fiery car crash. Chip heads back to Savannah, but wounded Johnny gets there first and holds Laura captive demanding more than money. Laura escapes and she and Chip go up against Johnny in the fight for their lives.
