SYNOPSIS:

Synopsis

The year is 1981, and Stefano DiTommaso has a desperate problem: his family debt. The older of two brothers, he must uphold the family honor by repaying this debt, which was incurred in Sicily by his father many years before. It isn’t monetary, but the debt keeps him under the thumb of a New York City organized crime group – with the safety of his family dependent on his success at doing their bidding.

Over the years, Stefano has acquired many skills in carrying out the demands of the criminal organization. This, coupled with his own experiences, has allowed him to developed talents in many areas–-including the use of weapons. But, his abilities are a double-edged sword. And his desperation is fueled by the fear that, with the criminal organizations demands escalating, it is only a matter of time before they compel him to become a killer. His situation is even more complicated by the fact that he is a Catholic priest.

When a violent crime is committed involving the bride of his younger brother Nico, he must accompany his brother to Key West in search of vengeance. With South Florida already a seething cauldron of violence due to race riots, violent dopers, and “Marielito’s,” adding the brothers to the mix will prove to be just the right ingredient to make the pot boil over.

In Key West, their dangerous quest thrusts the brothers into a complex, violent world of drug smugglers, murderers and crooked cops. They also must contend with Cuban MiG’s and gunboats in the Florida Straits. Still, a few unexpected heroes emerge to help in their endeavors. Ironically, with everyone seeming to have their own secret agenda, Nico’s personal blood lust isn’t satisfied, while Stefano finally gets the opportunity to use some of his skills in a positive, personal way.

However, when their interlude in the Keys ends, it has only served to postpone Stefano’s focus on his main concern: the family debt. Will he ever be free of it? Finally, he must return to New York City to confront it.
