Two sisters open a funeral parlor that specializes in themed memorial services and mourners experience a sendoff they'll never forget.
SYNOPSIS:
Daneen and Gayla DeFusco are two offbeat sisters with lifelong aspirations of being in show business. Unfortunately, they don't quite have the talent to entertain a captive or live audience. When their favorite Aunt and Uncle pass away, they inherit their funeral parlor, called "Stiff's 'R' Us." They decide to rebrand and the new slogan is..."We put the FUN into Funerals." Complete with a lounge act, cappucinno stand, and a bar that guarantees a buzz, they turn every memorial service into a show, worthy of a standing ovation. As far as services go, if the dearly departed was a Barbra Streisand fan, she'd get the "Babs" extreme makeover. Then after they strap on the nose, and send in the clowns, mourners might be serenaded with a Vegas-style "Don't tell me not to live, just sit and putter. Life's candy and the sun's a ball of butter. Don't bring around a cloud to rain on my parade..." Each week brings new "Stiff's" and operational mishaps, because running a funeral parlor, can be a serious undertaking. Eventually, they want to bring themed funeral services, to the entire world, so...we're talkin' franchise, baby. With the help of their loyal employee Wong Lee, and maddening Jersey-born mother Mona DeFusco, Daneen and Gayla's wacky approach to death, leaves the mourners confused, but thirsting for more.
