Mary Fields, a sharp shooting, female stagecoach driver, is hired by a group of nuns burdened with the responsibility of transporting a cross made of solid-gold through outlaw territory to their new mission.
SYNOPSIS:
The Emancipation Proclamation declared all persons held as "slaves" within the rebellious states free. Mary Fields, an escaped slave now in her early 30's makes a living as a sharp shooting stagecoach driver. A dangerous job usually designated for men, but Mary is not stranger to danger. Her next job however will test the limits of her courage, her skill, and her loyalty. The Job...Escort a group of nuns through outlaw territory to their new mission settlement. The Danger...The nuns are transporting a cross made of solid-gold that must reach the mission safely. The Odds...A hundred to one, but Mary agrees to the job upon discovering one of the nuns is her childhood friend, and former slave owner's daughter Sara Dunn. The Plan...Send out two stagecoaches at two separate times, in two different directions. The Objective...To have the outlaws follow the decoy, giving Mary and the nuns enough of a head start to safely make it to the new mission.
