World's collide, sparks fly and an iconic film car gets wrecked...
All set to a banging Britpop and 90s indie soundtrack.
SYNOPSIS:
Chronically unemployed and soon to be evicted from his council flat, boy racer LIAM receives a beautifully handwritten letter out of the blue from missing mum SALLY. It’s been 10 years since he heard from her, but she’s terminally ill and wants to hand over her lotto winnings before she dies.
But there are strings: Liam has to share the fortune with his estranged sister - conceited alcoholic and disgraced reality TV star PATSY. The pair have to meet their mum at a British seaside resort. A simple engagement for the siblings and they can then go on their separate ways again.
So, in Liam’s souped up day-glow orange 1984 Mark ii Golf GTI the sparing siblings hit the road. But Sally's got a masterplan to get the siblings back together. She leaves more letters with further instructions at long forgotten holiday destinations - the locations of the family’s last and most memorable holiday together back in 1996 when Britain was known as “Cool Britannia”.
Designed to ease their grief by retracing happier times, the letters backfire. Sparks fly, tears are shed and an iconic car gets wrecked as the siblings come to terms with their tragic upbringing as they journey to the edge of the world in north west Scotland for a reckoning with their long lost mum…
