About Craig

Native Southerner (USA) -- Savannah, Athens, Atlanta, Florida and the Carolinas -- but with seven enjoyable years in Chicago. I am a new screenwriter, but have written professionally and recreationally throughout my life and career in advertising, marketing and national sales. One of my recent projects is "What Red Wrote," a heart-warming movie script about a retired golf caddie with unique creative skills. Another recent (and on-going) project is "Cold Creek," an hour-long dramatic television series (13 episodes for season one completed, 5 episodes for season two completed to-date) about the residents of a North Carolina town making progress in the early 1960's toward positive racial coexistence and friendship. Their progress stems, in part, from the start-up of a marijuana co-op and the unexpected salesmen they hire. Looking to connect with anyone who can help move my projects toward production, of course, but also friends with common interests. Located near Charlotte, North Carolina now and have made western North Carolina mountains the location of my current projects.

  • Finding Cold Creek

Finding Cold Creek Drama In 1905, a Black family sells their Georgia farm to leave behind the Jim Crow South and heads north in hopes of finding a place to be truly free and happy. Trouble on horseback, however, is just two days behind and closing the gap.

  • Cold Creek -- The Series (Eighteen Episodes)

Cold Creek -- The Series (Eighteen Episodes) Drama How does a small, peaceful town in the North Carolina mountains begin to deal with the racial and cultural changes of the early 1960’s?  Some fought change, some brought change.  Two farmers, one white and one black, had a plan for a marijuana business they thought might help.  Seemed worth a shot.

  • What Red Wrote

What Red Wrote Romance When the inspired personal writings – “passages” – of a gentle old man named Red Barker are shared with a professional magazine writer, the writer (Neilson) launches a plan to seek their publication.  However, Red soon receives serious health news, which he shares with no one.  It prompts him to take a meaningful, but perhaps final, tour of favorites spots along the Blue Ridge Parkway with Claire, his lady friend and lover.  It also threatens to derail the book plan, unless success comes quickly.

  • Her Name Was Josephine

Her Name Was Josephine Drama In her own words, she was “born ugly” in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  Bullied as a child and lonely as an adult, she struggles to find her place in a world that loves pretty faces. She finds out that isn’t all it likes, but only after the loss of her protector and mentor, a local priest, forces her to confront life in a different way and a different place.
