About Maresa

MARESA PULLMAN is currently a Producer, most recently producing partners with Carlos Saldanha
(Ice Age franchise, Rio franchise, and Ferdinand) at BottleCap Productions under a Blue Sky Studios/
Disney overall-deal. Pullman oversaw the company’s slate both domestically and internationally. She managed a portfolio of features and scripted TV series, supervised creative development and production as well as oversaw distribution strategies across all platforms.
At BottleCap, Pullman sat on the frontlines and alongside Saldanha and Blue Sky Studios throughout the development and productions of Rio 2 and Ferdinand. Her latest work is as Executive Producer
on Invisible City (Netflix). She developed, packaged and produced this supernatural live-action series rooted in Brazilian folklore, and created by Carlos Saldanha. The show debuted February 2021 at #1 in Brazil and in the top ten in over fifty countries, including the U.S. It’s been picked up for a second season as it continues to gain global traction.
Pullman led the expansion of the company’s brand beyond the productions of Saldanha’s Ferdinand (2018 Academy Award nominee for Best Animated Film) and Rio 2 and currently remains active on BottleCap’s elevated content. Pullman is Executive Producer on The Girl Who Drank The Moon (Disney), a feature hybrid based on the Newbery Honor novel of the same name for Saldanha to direct with award- winning graphic novelist and writer, Noelle Stevenson, penning. Additionally, she continues to
shepherd Timeless (20th Century Studios), a four-quadrant hybrid based on the HarperCollins successful title, Timeless: Diego and the Rangers of the Vaslantic, for Saldanha to direct and for Ridley Scott to produce with BottleCap. Pullman and Saldanha have a kids animated series for Brazil with Disney + in production and an animated feature for Brazil in the pipeline for Disney + based on Saltimbancos, the famous Brazilian characters on par with Charlotte’s Web. Pullman also produced international feature projects, such as festival favorite Before I Forget (2018), a family film about coming to terms with a father’s Alzheimer’s disease.
Prior to BottleCap, Pullman was Vice President of Development and Production at Scott Free where she was instrumental in ushering feature projects and crossover between Scott’s commercial, music video, gaming, and branded entertainment groups known as RSA Films. She oversaw ten movies, and facilitated the production of Coca-Cola’s animated short, The Polar Bears, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda. Pullman worked directly in tandem with Ridley and Tony Scott during the development and productions of their films: Prometheus (20th Century Studios), Robin Hood (Universal), Body of Lies (Warner’s),
Domino (New Line), and The Taking of Pelham 123 (Sony). She supervised Cyrus (Searchlight Pictures), from the Duplass Brothers, starring John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei and Jonah Hill. She also oversaw Welcome to the Rileys (IFC), a redeeming story about healing and friendship starring Kristen Stewart, James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo.
Early in her career, Pullman worked in literary management and as an Agent Trainee at the William Morris Agency. She then went on to work with Producer, Michael Costigan, as his Executive Assistant on American Gangster, Brokeback Mountain, and Deck The Halls.
Pullman is a member of Women In Entertainment, Women In Film, Women In Animation, Step-Up, and she sits as President of the Orlando-Waring HOA Board. She received her Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film at The University of Texas at Austin, and is an annual guest lecturer there as well as at UCLA. Recently she received a Certification in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School Online. She wrote about her journey leading up to BottleCap in the Hollywood Journal’s edition of “Best Advice Ever” in 2014.
Born and raised in New York City, Pullman attended Trinity School. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter.
