In this West Coast, live-action/animation buddy-comedy, Zelda and Evelyn hustle to financially make ends meet as they navigate their terrible twenties through the mystical lens of tarot as each card they draw springs to animated life delivering tough love alongside unexpected hilarity.
SYNOPSIS:
Jumping right into the middle of Zelda’s podcast, Lets Be Scorpionist, we are immediately hit with the humor and banter of these buddies as they unapologetically draw tarot cards for each other.
Evelyn, boy crazy, wants to ask about her crush, Alexander. Zelda, eyes already rolling backwards, denies the request – forcing Evelyn to generally ask, “What do I need to know now?” She receives THE MOON tarot card/archetype. The Moon is all about intuition, how intuned someone is with it and if they’re smart enough to follow it! She’s also a warning to not take the easy way out – something Evelyn is inherently prone to. The Moon resembles and is voiced by Fortune Feimster.
When Zelda asks for career advice, she is given the Magician - a mysterious, androgynous being who reminds Zelda that she has all the resources available to her to be successful, and to not let her fear stop her from using them!
Throughout the pilot, the two comedically learn to trust their intuition and their friendship as they navigate their stressful lives in an "all too chill" town.
