SYNOPSIS:
Imagine your trusted news people at your local TV station involved in extramarital affairs, crossing the line of professionalism by their involvement with media contacts and each other, coming close to breaking the law, and sometimes getting arrested by law enforcement. They get caught up in violent acts, deal with addiction, and are accused of alleged drug trafficking. That’s just the beginning.
A veteran news director whose vanity is bar none and who also anchors the evening news leads these young journalists on their new career path. His social skills are equivalent to those of a self-centered varsity football cheerleader who has to have all eyes on her all the time. His wondering eyes influence his hiring practices, which lead to a mainly female news staff. Daily newsgathering on some days becomes secondary to the staff’s hook-ups. Their bad personal decision-making makes for a good story that never gets reported on.
Rivalries are created with the news director and community leaders like the constant one with him, a local pastor, and the pastor’s best friend who happens to be the mayor of one of the larger cities in the TV station’s viewing area.
Who doesn’t want to know about what the news media doesn’t want you to know about them?
