When a tall, offbeat family and their quick-witted black cat set out on a Christmas road trip across Australia’s Nullarbor Plains, a freak dust storm strands them in a bizarre outback town run by mysterious little people, and the only one who can lead them out is the cat.

SYNOPSIS:

This Christmas, the Wilsons are hitting the road, one last time.

Gordon and Elizabeth, mum and dad along with their two endlessly squabbling teenagers, Luke and Sophie, are a tall, awkward lot with a knack for turning even the simplest trip into chaos.

Determined to recapture the magic of past Christmases, they pile into their dented old Kombi van with their intuitive (and slightly bossy) cat, Max, for a nostalgic road trip across Australia’s endless Nullarbor Plains.

But when a massive dust storm sweeps them off course, the family finds themselves stranded in a bizarre outback town that doesn’t appear on any map. The locals are oddly cheerful, suspiciously short, and strangely fascinated by the Wilsons’ height.

At first, the family chalks it up to outback eccentricity, until they uncover the truth: the townsfolk are actually little people disguised as aliens, planning to hijack the Wilsons and take them “home” for Christmas - on another planet!

Now, with their Kombi buried under red dust, their phones dead, and Max acting like he knows more than he should, the Wilsons must rely on teamwork, quick thinking, and a bit of Christmas spirit to escape the town’s peculiar hospitality while throughout their journey, they realise that what truly matters is not a perfect holiday but the imperfect people they share it with.
