James Pacitti

My firm provides legal services to clients in the entertainment industry, specifically in the areas of TV and film development, finance, production and distribution. I have over 25 years legal experience and have been helping independent filmmakers with all aspects of development, production and distribution since 2007.

I spent the first decade of my career in courtrooms as a trial attorney litigating in both state and federal courts. I was eventually drawn to the collaborative art of filmmaking and began helping indie producers with production legal needs in the early 2000's while working in Florida at one of the largest litigation law firms in the country. In 2007, I left Florida and moved to Los Angeles and started my own law practice focused on entertainment law.

My years of experience as a litigator gives me a unique perspective that helps me guide my clients through the many potential pitfalls awaiting in the often treacherous and cutthroat world of entertainment.

Being born and raised in Philadelphia, followed by college in Boston (Northeastern University) and law school in New York (Fordham University), I also provide the direct, blunt, and frank advice and counsel you'd expect from someone who spent their first 30 years living on the East Coast;)
