A teenage lady in waiting is abducted and thrown into a dungeon where she meets her mother who has been imprisoned for many years. During their attempt to escape the mother sacrifices her life and the young girl now truly alone for the first time must make her way in a world filled with love, treachery and revolution as she attempts to make a life of her own.
