About Arnon

I am an active storyteller, not an observer of moments. Whether it’s dark or comedic, the audience must feel a part of the scene, embraced by the story. To date, I have directed three indie features, and roughly 100 short fiction films and web series episodes.

I was ten years old when I first noticed filmmaking. Prior to that, movies were just things that existed in the world, not the assembled products of creative people. I immediately began (the way so many of us did) to play with the old camcorder that had gathered dust in the closet. By age 14, I was directing my own fiction films.

I believe that movies need to transport us, even if it’s just to the house next door. Where would you like to go? Let me take you.

  • Bible Battles

    Bible Battles (2005)
Television (Documentary, History and War) Actor In one of the most hostile lands on the planet, an ancient people called the Israelites forged an army and carved out an empire. Their ancient military exploits are described in one of history's most famous religious texts; the old testament of the Bible. But by reading between the religious lines, ancient military historians unlock the soldier's secrets of the bible by examining the weapons, the strategies; and the commanders, some of whom are unlikely warriors, like Abraham, Moses, and Deborah. Bible Battles is a two hour hi-definition special that explores the biblical world from a military perspective from the time of Abraham, approximately 1500 BC, until David's ascension to the throne, around 1000 BC. Using graphic battle re-creations choreographed by a Hollywood sword master, Bible Battles brings to life some of the most famous stories of the Bible, like the Exodus, the battle of Jericho, and David's fight against Goliath; as well as more obscure stories like Abraham's surprise... • Hineini: Coming Out in a Jewish High School

Hineini: Coming Out in a Jewish High School (2005)
Film (Documentary) Editorial department Hineini (Hebrew for 'Here I am') chronicles the story of one student's courageous fight to establish a gay-straight alliance at a Jewish high school in the Boston area and the transformative impact of her campaign on everyone involved. Beyond the struggle to create a supportive environment for gay and lesbian students and teachers at the school, this is the story of a community wrestling with the very definition of pluralism and diversity in a Jewish context. Shulamit Izen enters 9th grade at The New Jewish High School (now Gann Academy) longing to connect more deeply with her Jewish faith. She also starts school as an out lesbian. Using interviews with Shulamit, her family, teachers, and other students - both those who support her campaign and those who oppose it - the film allows the members of this community to tell their own story as it unfolds. What emerges is a potent story of Jewish pluralism and a community navigating the cross-currents of Jewish tradition and social change. Written by Anonymous
