When getting a new project off the ground you often hear about the importance of attaching top talent.

There are a number of reasons the industry says you need to get recognizable talent attached to your project - it will help secure financing, land a pre-sale deal before you start filming, help stir up interest in your project from other cast and crew in the industry, and generally make your project more marketable and desirable across the board. While these are all true, it doesn't change the fact that it feels nearly impossible for a first time filmmaker to get a recognizable actor, writer, director, or producer to come on board your project. Most filmmakers early in their careers struggle with even conceptualizing the process to get top talent.

How do you get the agent or manager to pay attention? How can you sound professional and knowledgeable so the talent and their reps take you seriously? If you are able to reach the actor and their team, how can you increase your chances of getting an official attachment? Filmmakers constantly grapple with these questions and, unfortunately, often make the wrong choices in going about this process. Many filmmakers waste money on offers to talent who are known but do not have any value in the current film market, or, conversely, make offers to marketable talent that are much too low and won't get the agent's attention.

Luckily, this exclusive Stage 32 on-demand webinar will equip you with all the tools you need to appropriately approach top talent with the confidence and know-how to get an attachment! Teaching you the art and science of how to attach top talent is Bradley Gallo, the President and Co-Founder of Amasia Entertainment. If there is anyone in the industry that knows how to attach A-list talent to independent films it's Bradley. He has worked with some of the top A-list talent on his independent films including Oscar-winners Olivia Coleman, Halle Berry & Christopher Walken, Oscar-nominee Anna Kendrick, Jon Hamm, Jamie Dornan and many more. Bradley will pull back the curtain on the process and share tips & tricks on everything you need to consider to set yourself - and your project - up for success by getting top talent on board!

Whether you are planning to make your movie now or plan to make a movie in the future, Bradley will provide you with the framework to know when is the right time to attach talent, how to evaluate which talent actually has value, how large (or small) your offers should be, and so much more!

PLUS! You will receive a SAMPLE OFFER LETTER that you can use when approaching talent on your next project!

Receive 10 exclusive handouts, including a tax incentive resource sheet, to help you find those incentives. Let's face it... making a movie can be expensive. The prep, development, production, and post-production costs add up quickly, and the need for more money is real at all budget levels. But production is also big business and state governments around the country have programs that give productions money to incentive them to shoot in their state and employ their residents. You can take some of the pressure off of your budget and investors by using state tax incentives and rebates in specific locations to help finance your film. In this exclusive on-demand Stage 32 webinar, you'll learn what kinds of tax incentives are available to you in the United States and all of the ways you can utilize them to finance and produce your film. Why do states give out what level of tax credit? How do we access them? This webinar will explain it all and help you take that aggressive first step in using these resources to make your indie feature. Having worked in various states that offer film incentives, your instructor, Nicholas Levis, shows you how this opportunity is essential for you, your investors and your distributor. That money can make the difference in your project happening or your investors getting a return on their investment. That means the difference in getting your movie made.  These tax incentives do, however, come with challenges. You'll see the stringent guidelines by using examples from certain territories. We will explore the legal and accounting obligations required to stay in compliance. The tax incentive is one of the assumed standards in the entertainment business, so don't miss out on this opportunity to learn how to reach those key government officials who want your movie in their state. Nicholas Levis is a highly sought-after producer and the founder and CEO of BrandCinema. He's well-known for his think-outside-the-box producing style, having produced content across the country in 30 states utilizing the incentives discussed in this webinar. It’s a titan in the industry, and with over 200 million subscribers worldwide, no one can put out content quite like them. Just look at the recent hit show BRIDGERTON, which has already been seen by a massive 80 million households (!!) since its release. If you’re a writer or creator, getting your series onto Netflix’s platform can spell success in a big way. But first there’s the matter of getting your series in front of them and pitching it effectively. It should be a comfort to know that you’re not the only one who wants your series on Netflix. Netflix wants that too! Netflix execs are constantly on the lookout for exciting new voices and new series to fill their slate. Yet it takes more than just a good series or a good pilot script to get on Netflix’s radar; you need to be able to communicate it well and pitch it in a way that will get their team excited. This certainly takes some work, but it’s absolutely achievable. If you’re interested in getting your show on Netflix, it’s time to learn directly from the source what it will take to make that happen. In an effort to reach more writers and find more content, Netflix has joined forces with Stage 32 to present a FREE and invaluable workshop on what it is that they’re looking for in new shows and how you can best pitch your series to their executives. In Stage 32's continued effort to help level the playing field for content creators worldwide, we felt it's important that we help you get tools you need to be able to make sure that you can pitch effectively. Kicking off the workshop will be Stage 32 CEO, Richard "RB" Botto (@rbwalksintoabar), and hosting this presentation will be Stage 32's Managing Director Amanda Toney with Netflix’s Director of Creative Talent Investment and Development for International Originals Christopher Mack. Christopher was previously Senior Vice President of Scripted Content for Stage 13, overseeing all of the brand’s original scripted series and development slates across multiple genres, including Emmy nominated Netflix series’ SPECIAL and IT'S BRUNO. Before Stage 13, Chris headed the Warner Bros. Workshop, the writing and directing program for professionals looking to start and/or further their careers in television. Over a period of 10 years in this role, Chris curated a roster of close to 100 writers and 50 directors representing the breakthrough emerging voices working on high-profile television shows today. In addition to these responsibilities, Chris has covered hit shows such as TWO AND A HALF MEN and SMALLVILLE for the Current Programs department. Prior to joining Warner Bros., Chris spent seven years writing on various one-hour dramas including ER, THE PRACTICE and THE NEW TWILIGHT ZONE. After graduating from Loyola Law School, Chris got his start in television at NBC Studios as an associate and he quickly rose to becoming an executive. During his time at the newly created NBC Studios, he oversaw a varied list of shows including: THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR and IN THE HOUSE, among others. In this exclusive Stage 32 workshop, Christopher will delve into what exactly makes a television pitch work at Netflix. He’ll discuss the essentials you’ll need to catch Netflix’s eye and will zero in on how to write an effective pitch document. He’ll pose questions you be able to answer and communicate for your series and give you ideas on how best to communicate your show’s overview, world, tone, and characters. Christopher will then discuss how season summaries should be built and give you ideas on how to think about and present potential episodes. Finally, you will have the invaluable opportunity to ask Christopher your own questions. You will leave this presentation with the understanding of how to structure and present your series, not in theory, but directly from the source.

How a CAM Account Saves You Time and Worry

Filmmaking isn’t just an artform, it’s a business. As a creative, you might not be aware of how you can ensure you receive your fair share of the revenue or properly negotiate for it. With the right agreement in place, you can focus on producing a great story that audiences will love without worrying about how the money will come later. What you need is a CAM Agreement. The CAM Agreement, short for Collection Account Management, is a multiparty agreement that handles the receipt, allocation, and disbursement of revenues generated by the distribution of a project. In short, a CAM Agreement is how you get paid when the project sells. It protects everyone’s interests and eliminates misunderstandings between partners by ensuring everyone enters the project on the same page and puts everyone on a Recoupment Schedule so that you know when and how you’re getting paid. With so many platforms and distribution markets to consider, revenue is never as simple as selling the project one time. It covers payment of revenues, commissions, expenses, recoupment investments, deferments, bonuses, and profits. David Zannoni is a consultant for Fintage House, where he's seen first-hand the benefit of these agreements through his work negotiating for films and television series internationally, regularly attending the major film festivals like Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, and more. David will walk you and the other attendees of this Stage 32 webinar exclusively through the key elements of the CAM Agreement, what’s covered, standard clauses, the different kinds of CAM Agreements you’ll need for the different guilds, and how the agreement will evolve and be used in the future. By knowing the benefits of these agreements from someone who regularly uses them, you’ll have the ability to negotiate better for yourself and your project, empowering you to stress less about how you’ll make your money back and focus instead on telling a great story.

How To Produce An Award-Winning Film For Under $500k

Learn How To Make An Award-Winning Feature Film For Under $500K From The Filmmakers Behind The 2020 Award-Winning Independent Feature Film TULSA And The 2019 Award Winning Independent Feature Film BLACKBEAR  PLUS! Scott and Laura will provide you with the script for their award-winning film TULSA!   Are you ready to make your award-winning independent feature film for under $500K? Making your independent feature film is one of the greatest and most fulfilling creative challenges in the world. While the finished product may come across like an effortless, moving piece of art, the truth is countless elements of the filmmaking process need to go right in order for a film to be a success. You may have a great director, great actors, and a great script, but the bottom line is that you need all the pieces of this puzzle (and more) to fit together to make it to the finish line and give your film a chance to win some awards that can propel your career forward. There are so many important questions that you need to answer. What are the key elements to making an award-winning film? How do you go about assembling the right team? How do you raise money for an independent film? How can you cast the best actors in each role? And something most novice filmmakers overlook - how do you secure distribution before you start filming?  In this exclusive Stage 32 webinar you'll learn from award winning filmmakers Scott and Laura Pryor who will share their journey and lessons learned with you to help you make your award winning independent feature film. Scott and Laura have made multiple award-winning films for $500k or less, including "The List” (2015), “Blackbear” (2019), and “Tulsa” (2020). Scott and Laura will teach you everything you need to know to best approach your filmmaking process to create a great low budget feature film that can resonate with audiences and voters at festivals and markets.  One key element that separates an award-winning film from the rest is the ability to create massive synergy in executing the right vision with the right t in place. Proper execution requires building the right team in the right positions, having a strong pre-production, and knowing your outcomes before your very first shoot day. Many filmmakers fall into the trap of thinking that because they have a couple of the key factors in place such as financing or a great script, they will be successful. This is simply not the case. It takes the entire team and machine to be in sync and that starts with leadership from the top.  If you're ready to make your award-winning feature film for under $500K, this webinar is a must.  PLUS! Scott and Laura will provide you with an exclusive copy of the script for their award-winning film TULSA!
