About Alex

I am a costume designer and fashion designer/stylist working in film, print and theater across the country. My passion for my work comes from a profound curiosity and interest in learning about diverse cultures and time periods. I delve deep into the psyche of the characters in order to create their looks from an informed and personal place. I don't think that costume design is just about pretty dresses. I think my job is to help the story telling and to illuminate the characters. I design elaborate period pieces, but in my contemporary work I am known for creating looks that are "real" as opposed to "costumey". My experience in fashion and styling also allows me to create high concept looks.

While costume design is my main focus I also have experience in set decoration and props.
