About the job

Brainchild Entertainment is developing a contained, dialogue-driven psychological drama intended to be directed and produced in Toronto, Canada. We are seeking a creative writing partner to help develop the screenplay and bring it to a strong, production-ready draft.

Due to the nature of the project, applications are limited to writers residing in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, or Australia.

Set primarily in a single location, the film is built around character, tension, and perspective, unfolding over a compressed timeframe. It leans heavily on subtext, voice, and psychological conflict rather than external action, with underlying themes of memory, perception, and cognitive decline. The project is being developed in Toronto, Canada and is set in the United States.

The project has a defined direction, structure, and ending, with room to explore within those boundaries through collaboration. The goal is a tight, focused feature in the ~90-minute range.

This is a spec script collaboration with a fixed fee of $200 USD. The project is being developed under Brainchild Entertainment, and selected collaborators will be asked to sign an NDA and a standard agreement assigning script rights to the production company.

Looking for someone who:

  • Writes strong, layered dialogue
  • Has sharp instincts for character
  • Is comfortable with contained storytelling
  • Can challenge ideas constructively

If this resonates, send:

  • Short intro
  • One complete screenplay sample (feature or pilot), ideally representative of the type of work you would bring to this collaboration
  • Optional: A Logline and synopsis of your screenplay

Only qualified applicants will be emailed back with a response. Please submit your material to: raied@brainchildsandbox.com
