SYNOPSIS:
Natalie Rivera is a charismatic, ambitious New Jersey assembly candidate whose campaign centers on modern womanhood and self-determination. When it’s revealed that her ex-husband is the primary custodial parent of their children, public opinion turns swiftly and viciously — fueled by cultural assumptions about motherhood, sacrifice, and ambition. Rather than retreat, Natalie leans in. With the guidance of her ruthless campaign strategist, she reframes the narrative, positioning shared custody as radical honesty and personal liberation. What begins as damage control quickly becomes a national conversation — and then a brand. As Natalie’s platform grows, so does the distance between her public persona and her private reality. Her children feel the cost. Her ex-husband becomes collateral. And Natalie must confront the uncomfortable truth that winning the narrative may mean losing the people she once claimed to be fighting for. Primary Custody is a provocative political drama about power, gender expectations, and the dangerous line between authenticity and ambition — asking whether the stories we tell to survive can ultimately destroy us.
