Thanks from a Long-Time Actress

My thanks to Karen for inviting me here. I didn't know this existed. I joined because of screenwriting, and though many times I've been tempted to give up, something inside won't let me. Because of some comments I got from a competition here at Stage 32 I made some necessary changes to Bighorn Deceit and it's now a finalist at CWA. That's been a long road - I've not been a finalist anywhere on anything since 2003. Of course acting and love of movies is why I start writing scripts. I also have published novels and books but there's something about writing scripts that speaks to the actress in me. I can see myself in the characters I write. They do say that actors make better screenwriters. I don't know if that's really true. Lately, since my voice isn't want it once was, I've been auditoning for film and commercial roles. I snagged roles in three short local films this year - all of which have delayed filming because of the virus. And because I'm repped in Milwaukee and Chicago, I get commercial auditions, one of which I completed in June, and am still waiting to see it air. Might even get a billboard! That said, I've no delusions. It's just a fun thing to do while I still can. I've been acting since I was 11.
