I wanted to share our first animated commercial. While we learned a great deal throughout the process, rather than sharing my own thoughts on what could be improved, I’d genuinely appreciate your feedback.
What stood out to you? What would you improve? And what do you feel should remain the same?
Thank you in advance for your time—I look forward to your insights. Wishing you a wonderful day!

Hey, Cyrus Sales. I think you all did a great job on the commercial! I like the animation style, but I'm not really a fan of the shadows on the characters. No offense, but the shadows make the characters look dirty.

Hey Cyrus Sales great job. I don't have an issue with shadows, but these shadows like Maurice Vaughan said look dirty. If the shadows have too much blur they can take away from the aesthetic, also as best as possible you want to use coloured shadows and not black shadows. Using blue shadows or shadows that are a variation of the skin our outfit colour. I can tell you are using software generated shadows, so the softness of the shadows really make a difference here. Try turning the blur down a lot or manually adding the shadows for personal projects. For a commercial I would not recommend manual shadows if the time is tight.
Outside of that, nice walk cucles and timing for the most part.

Maurice Vaughan - no offense taking. I appreciate all feedback. I do feel like the character being grey takes away from the overall storyline. As if it pulls your eyes over to see what exactly it is.

Kevin Jackson thank you so much for this piece of advice. I notified our animation lead about the shadow feedback and how we can implement it moving forward. For this commercial I think I'm going to leave it as is. There's so many different things we want and could change but I'm learning to let go and put it out or else it'll also need to be adjusted and will eventually just sit on my hard drive. All great advice for our next commercial.

Cyrus Sales Once the client is happy, accept it and move on. Implement improvements in the next project.

I feel it is a solid start, but it feels incomplete. Additionally, I don't get a sense of what you're advertising. It seems like it is the chef's restaurant. There should be a strong graphic of Creative Station as your final shot to convey what you are selling effectively.

Bob Harper Thank you for the feedback. Yeah, we quickly found how important pre-production and thorough planning is. We are going to give another swing at it with proper production, look forward to sharing the final product with everyone.
