RB's April Challenge (day 30)

Over the past month through many of the postings and conversations, you may have gathered that I have a soft spot for Gordon Willis. There are many great films we could point to with his work, but for me it was Pakula's 'paranoia trilogy' (All the President's Men, Klute, The Parallax View) that really speaks to me. Here's an interview with the Craft Truck dude speaking to Gordon Willis. Some take away quotes, "There is no formula." But it seems the world is full of the purveyors of formula, from Cinematography to Screenwriting. "Complexity is not good." In fact Gordon Willis say this is to cover the holes in the narrative. Poor storytelling. "The elegance of simplicity." Not simplistic, which is bad, but the simplicity of doing what a good story needs to be told. So, please enjoy the last April Challenge entry and thank you @RB for setting the challenge to the Stage 32 community. http://youtu.be/GyzIrrMccNY

Oh, I love this. Loved Wills' work. Had the opportunity to hear his daughter speak recently about his work ethic, his vision, how he went about framing a shot, etc. Pure gold. Thanks for sharing!

Would've loved to have been a fly on the wall for that one @RB. Shame it wasn't recorded. And thanks again for the challenge.
