Could this be a new model for getting one's film funded? It doesn't strike me as exactly a new concept but maybe it's unusual for today's market. What are your thoughts?

I think this could be a new model for getting one’s film funded, Tucker Teague. It reminds me of how some producers make a TV pilot, pitch the series to a company with the pilot, then the company buys the series and redoes the pilot.
