a story writer writes story , a screen writer writes screen play, a dialouge writer writes dialouge, than what is the work of the director just to shoot and give script and say i am director of this film ,many directors are doing this now days, what about you all big brain what are you going to prove from all these , are you director or just a video maker, video a camera man can make than why and what is the meaning of director.
Hi Srinivasa Raya! A director controls the physical production. They are responsible for making decisions regarded to set design, cinematography, acting, etc. Their job, going back to the theater, is to have a vision for how a script is translated onto the stage (screen), then communicate that vision to everyone else working on the production, often collaborating with them and molding it into something new by the end. Without the director, everyone would be making their own decisions and not necessarily lining up. The director takes that leadership role and guides the film towards that vision.
They are in charge of the look/feel of the film - storyboard, shot list, art direction. Not as much power as a producer, and can easily be replaced, but if they have a solid vision (i.e. how they want to film), then they are also priceless. Great question, Srinivasa Raya !
You write the story. The director tells the story - in her/his own voice.
Hey, Srinivasa Raya I was looking over your profile, but you don't have much there. Tell me about yourself! Don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too!
