My films are based on my long running Halloween haunt in Phoenix, AZ. I am hoping that the audience that we built organically in person and on TikTok can transfer to an audience for the short films. Horror fans and Halloween lovers have a bit of a crossover, but can it be enough to build an actual audience?
I think there's definitely strong crossover. If the stories capture the same atmosphere your audience already loves, many of them will likely follow your filmmaking journey. Best of luck!
Michaela Nastasia Experience shows that social media audiences don't like to leave their platform (especially TikTok). They are there specifically because the platform itself is part of their entertainment. So you must be aware that you need to service each platform audience separately and and engage them enough so that they will talk about you and leave the platform to watch your specific production. You want to incentivize them to create word of mouth.
I love this question Michaela Nastasia - it can be done. I'd highly recommend you read our CEO's book "Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers" - he has individual case studies that show how filmmakers have moved their audience that I think you'll find really helpful: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1138849898?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=m...
