Happy to reintroduce myself!
I'm a UK-based writer of dark fiction. My second novel, 'The House That Screamed' is out in June.
It's a meta-fiction which is pitched as 'The Amityville Horror' for the digital era (screen rights unencumbered). A world famous haunting inspires a film franchise, and a group of thrill-seeking podcasters learn the truth is far more horrifying than the movies.
My third novel, folk-horror 'The Forest Remembers', has recently been acquired by NYC-based City Owl Press, and will be out in 2027 (reported in Locus), with adaptation rights being handled by an agency.
I'm looking forward to connecting with more members of this creative community!

Hi Alex, happy Introduce Yourself Weekend—congrats on your upcoming release and the recent acquisition, that’s remarkable and exciting progress. Folk horror is my favorite! Have you also ventured into dark fantasy or dark sci-fi as well?

Dwayne Williams 2 not really. The next one, which is yet to find a home, is period gothic. And I’m polishing something now that’s strange, I’m not sure quite what it is, and I’m here for that!

Oh, excellent Alex Hunter. Period Gothic sounds fun! I haven’t given it a full try yet, although I’ve definitely flirted with it a bit. There’s something about that atmosphere and era that brings out a darker feel to horror!
Dwayne Williams 2 it’s a very quiet and ambiguous story. Lots of creeping dread!
This is beautiful, i would love to connect with you
