I’ve been intrigued by the late 19th century for as long as I can remember. Living in Australia the oldest area ( of European settlement) is the Rocks area in Sydney. I first visited the Rocks in 2010. It was during my first trip to Sydney that I discovered what would become the inspiration behind my current project.

Marie Hatten Greetings Marie, welcome to the IYW. Have you started writing your screenplay, yet? You will find help in the Screenwriting Lounge and also the Script Services on the site’s taskbar tab.
I was in Sydney last November for a wedding, and loved the city.

Nice to meet you, Marie Hatten. Your script sounds interesting. What genre is it? It sounds like a Horror or Fantasy Drama with a Supernatural sub-genre.

Hey Geoff , my apologies for some reason I've not been able to see your comment till now. I've written the first draft but it's too short. I've just begun a Stage 32 class that I'm sure will no doubt help the rewrite. I adore Sydney, did you explore the Rocks at all ?

Marie Hatten Hi Marie, yes, that “I’ve just seen this” is something I’ve experienced before. I’m not sure why it happens. It’s like a comment gets stuck in a digital black hole!
I’m pleased to hear that you’ve completed a first draft. Yes, I’m sure the course will help you get that draft to where you need it.
Sydney. Yes, it’s amazing what can inspire us to start writing a story. We were in Neutral Bay, which we really enjoyed. We explored via the ferry, to Circular Quay, walked around the Opera House, into the Botanical Gardens and then on to a very sombre museum, which I can’t remember the name of but it had to do with those who had lost their lives in numerous wars. We then took a very nostalgic underground railway trip back to Circular Quay.
Our reception was on the other side of the bay, at a beautiful venue for the celebrations. We then moved on to NZ to stay with some friends and explore the South Island.
