From what I've seen, Substack is getting very popular as a place to post personal writing. Anything that helps writers get exposure and pushes them to write is good in my book

I have a few friends who have really enjoy using Substack to get their short stories and essays out to the world and build an audience. It's becoming more popular for aspiring writers and authors all the time. I'm glad you've been enjoying it as well, CK Steefel!
