Suggestions for newbie editor

I need to be able to edit audition self-tapes better than I can right now. Could anyone suggest a VERY user-friendly and affordable editing program for editing newbies? Thanks!

First - Audio or Video? Second, what platform? (Macintosh, Windows, iPad...?)

Ah, you see how new I am ... Video. Windows. Thanks.

Thank you Peter. I had a problem using Windows Movie Maker but will try again. I'll also check out the Sony Vegas. I appreciate the link for download. I think it was an error of some kind I encountered before. Maybe downloading again would work.

Take a look at Filmora Editor by Wondershare. Rated as pretty good. Free to try. One year = $30, lifetime support $50. http://filmora.wondershare.com/video-editor/

Sony Vegas is good. I believe they have a free trial to try it out too.
