My company has two films in active development. One with budget confirmed pending cast attachment and one with producer attachment, waiting on fiscal paperwork. None of this is moving as fast as I want it to. So, rather than wringing my hands in between client work, I have been making hay while the sun shines by producing shorts. It keeps me active, happy, and focused on being creative. Here's a poster for one of my latest endeavors.
How do you wait?

Congratulations, Michael Fitzer, MFA and 180 Degrees! I wait by working on another script, pitching, networking, resting, or doing something else.

I have one feature film in development and am currently casting a lead which is taking some time. I wait by doing volunteer work for a world peace organisation in The Hague. They have a small studio for video podcasts. About every two weeks we are recording interviews. Next to that I make electronic music, currenlty with Bandlab. I am also involved with art photography. Furtermore I am spending a lot of time researching film and media.

Two months ago, while waiting for responses from producers regarding my feature screenplay, I decided to write a short script and take on the roles of producer and director for the first time. In one month, I went from the short script final version to shooting the short film, and in the meantime, the producers' answer told me that I needed to polish the screenplay for the next stage. We need to be creative while we wait. Now, the short film is in the editing stage, and I can return to polish the screenplay. Nub City promises Michael Fitzer, MFA :))
