Doorways are memory portals. Many times when I decide I must go into another room for some reason, the moment I pass through the doorway I forget why I entered that room in the first place.
Same here, Doug. I find myself leaving my room to tell my wife what I just learned on the internet, forget what I was going to say, and have to return to find out what it was by staring at the walls in my room and hurrying back to tell her before I forget again. Apparently, I googled if this wasn't dementia or Alzheimers and they say it is perfectly normal. What I do now for this is I repeat the most important part over and over again when I walk out of the room. It's pretty annoying at times.

When you write it down, don't forget to write why you wrote it down!
If I want to try and write an idea. I write a few sentences. Then I go back and reread them every few weeks.
The ones that stick in my mind are good ones.
I have 5 stories at the moment that will not let me forget them.
