I am submitting to various competitions through coverfly. It is my first time using this service. I wondered if anyone uses the optional "Comment For Reader" field? If so what helpful aspects of a script do you typically mention? Thanks.
E Langley Thanks! Yes that's what I was worried about. If I keep my mouth shut I can't say anything that would prejudice the entry. If I say anything, I might mess up. By the way - "helpful aspects" is the term they use. I don't know what it means either.
I don't normally enter screenwriting contests. This is more for when I submit a pitch to a producer. I write something like "Thanks for hearing my pitch. A treatment and a pitch deck are available."
Maurice Vaughan Thanks. Would it be ok to say I have sections of the film as 3d animations (on my website) when submiting to a producer? I know it's unconventional but that's how I write, the images often come before the story. I guess I couldn't do that when submitting to a competition.
Maurice Vaughan Dan MaxXx Thanks very much for your thoughts. I am submitting to the ScreenCraft Sci-Fi & Fantasy Screenwriting Competition today and I'll just thank them for reading. Seems courteous.

Yes. "Thank you. Enjoy the read."
Don't know what 'helpful aspects' means but I don't point anything out to a reader. It seems bad form and could boomerang.

NP, Steve. Maybe it means, "Inspired by or based on a true story" kinda thing. Not, "If you don't highly rate this script, I'll kill your cat/dog." :)

If you think you need to put something in the "Comment For Reader" field, put it. It might help you stand out/help your script stand out.

I think that would be fine to put when you submit to a producer, Steve Scifi. It might help you and your project stand out.
