The truth? I don't write for therapy, or validation, or to earn a “wow, what a deep soul” badge.
I write because I know a good script can change everything. Not just a film. A perception. A generation.
I want my name to show up so often that when a producer names their kid, they go: “Let’s call him Petru he keeps showing up in my dreams anyway.”
I don’t need to be liked. I need to be seen. And once you’ve seen me, you won’t be able to ignore me.
What drives you to write? Do you have the guts to admit it or are you still wrapping it in poetic metaphors?
If you’ve read this far, it’s already too late.
Petru Gradinariu just entered your cortex.

Rene Descartes said, "I think; therefore, I am." With that sentiment I say, "I write; therefore, I am."

Hi, Petru Gradinariu. What drives me to write is I have stories to tell, money, and it's fun.

Thanks for your honesty, Maurice.
To be honest with you I’m in pretty much every major screenwriter group on Facebook, Stage32, you name it.
And what do I see everywhere? Way too much hypocrisy.
People hiding their true motives behind poetic lines like:
“I write for the art... I am writing in memory of my grandmother.... for my cosmic cat...”
Come on, just say it: you write for stories, for money, for legacy, because you’re addicted to meaning.
I write because I’m fully, unapologetically convinced I’m the best at this craft and I will write until the day I die.
Anyone who disagrees read what I write.
Then come back with arguments, not with vague opinions.
Until then... I keep walking my own path. One that I’m writing myself.
You're welcome, Petru Gradinariu. Some writers write for the art, in memory of loved ones, etc.
