Hello, Fellow Scribes.
I entered two thriller feature screenplays into this contest: "dream HOLLYWOOD" and "Where's Grace?". I'll assume BOTH have been judged. What confuses me is that the email's subject headline reads "Update on dream HOLLYWOOD in Big Break," yet the body of the email contains details of my OTHER script, "Where's Grace?". Mark this date, for I'll NEVER submit my scripts to this contest again.
Credibility defined: worthy of belief or confidence; trustworthy: a credible witness.
Did you let Final Draft Big Break know it's a mix up, @Bill Brock?
Maurice Vaughan I did not. My point is, mix ups at major contests should NEVER occur. Be certain of script TITLES and content before hitting "send."
I wouldn’t say never, @Bill Brock. It's people sending out the emails.
Maurice Vaughan NEVER! .... especially when it comes to dolling out cash. I'd rather shop around for contests that PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL, whether it be via judge or email sender. And please don't misconstrue my intentions. It's not the fact that the script was evaluated as rejection (and what screenwriter DOESN'T have a bunch of those?), it's the fractured process this organization executes in its communication. BAM!!!

I never heard from them at all.

I've had an issue with this particular contest as well. It was a few years ago, but NO winners were announced. When I emailed "info" to get a list of the winners (quarterfinalists, semi-finalists, finalists, winner), I got "crickets".

Michael Elliott Sorry to hear that, Mike. Attaching CASH to your script and zero response. Just Awful!

Vikki Harris Ughhhhhhhh! Crickets. Shaking my head, Vikki. What a horrible way to run an organization. Never again for me!
Dan MaxXx Thanks, Dan! Your replies are always very informative and quite thorough regarding the mechanics of the industry. Big Break is the only Coverfly competition I have entered. I'm a Film Freeway guy! Pretty happy with that organization.
