Over the past few years, I have developed several online friendships with screenwriters. One of them was with a writer filmmaker who is an American now living in Germany. We met online at Trigger Street Labs after he reviewed a screenplay I wrote. I subsequently read and reviewed one of his scripts and we began corresponding frequently. He has since become a good friend and writing confidant and came out to visit me during the recent Austin Film Festival. He has been extremely supportive and I will be working with him this summer on his first feature. He has directed two award winning documentaries about Norman Mailer and Martin Heidegger. Another writer I met online was Paul Zeidman. We have exchanged work and he has been very helpful in plugging my services and recommending me to a producer who was looking for sci-fi screenplays. He writes a screenwriter's blog read by several thousand people and is obsessive about writing and networking. What's good, Master P! Support Systems. I'm all about it! You're an inspiration to me, my friend. I always check you out. I've also had some interaction with Paul. That brother knows his stuff! ... In just under three years I've gained two brothers on S32. Writers and Actors, Lyle Pookie DeRose and Dave McCrea. The icing on the cake, for now, is we're shooting our first short together this month. I've know Dave all this time, and this will be our first face to face! Too crazy! Totally in agreement with what you say, Phillip E. I have a similar relationship with another screenwriter and filmmaker I met here. These is a network with many giving individuals, and it's (like RB, would say) , "a two way street." Which it's exactly what you are doing , my dear Phillip E. Thanks for sharing, buddy.
