I'm looking into getting PDF conversion software, looked at Adobe but 450. is way to much. Any suggestions on the best one for a reasonable price? Thanks guys.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? The question sounds like you are trying to convert from PDF to another format.
Scripts. Sometimes I'll want to go back in and change a word or phrase but once it's in of form you can't unless you have converter software. So I'm looking to see which one works best but at a reasonable price.
What are you creating the scripts in? Even something as basic as Word (not recommended but that's another topic), you can edit the original document and save as a new pdf so there's no reason to invest in pdf specific software.
I use celtx. Once you convert it to pdf and start new files the old ones are basically pushed out. I may hold off since I just purchased final draft 9. I'll see what that can before I spend extra cash.
I'm glad you have FD! With that you can save your script as a pdf and if you want to keep track of versions you can rename each time or just save over the one you have open. You should be able to import your Celtx script into FD. Here's a forum that explains how: http://kb.finaldraft.com/articles_search.aspx?cid=1001&catid=31&nt=5 However the formatting will not be intact, FD is very good at formatting a script and Celtx is not. So the old files will take some rework, but moving forward your life as a screenwriter will be much easier.

Floyd, In Celtx you can just save the project as a CeltX file, tweak it, re-save with diff version No etc... and PDF it when you need to.
Anthony the thing about celtx is once you've saved it in pdf. And let's say you go back to review it in six months. If it's not still within celtx and only saved in pdf you can't reinsert it into celtx. Once you start new projects the old one disappears.
I just use the 'Save Project As' feature, and either date the drafts or use a version number... when I create a PDF I then use the same naming convention... CeltX only overights if you use 'Save'... think you can also import txt files (Adobe Reader let's you save to these) into CeltX but i've not tried/used it.
Floyd, you're doing something wrong in Celtx. I use it all the time and send my scripts into the studio in PDF and then make edits in Celtx over and over. When in the script there should be a tab at the bottom that says Typeset/PDF. In that view there is a Save PDF button. Using that button creates the PDF as a separate file without losing the original Celtx file. At least, that's how it works for me.
I don't have studio. Maybe that's the problem. In the basic celtx once you begin new projects the old ones get pushed out and they can't be reinserted. Thanks for all the feedback and help guy's. Much appreciated.

Floyd, I don't know what studio is, I use the basic free download of Celtx and my projects never get pushed out. Are you using an online version or something? Maybe you should download the latest version.

Well I just bought final draft 9. So I'll see how that works for me. Thanks.

Should be good, I use both although I'm still on FD 8. I have to use Celtx for the work I do for smaller studios. I think Final Draft is the best to use for projects you want to try and sell but at the end of the day, you have to be able to work in the software requested by the customer.
