Screenwriting : Starting my first script. by Somay Gupta

Starting my first script.

Hi everyone, this is A Silent Partner. I'm preparing for my first script or a story. I'm gonna make my debut with a non-fictional, non-theoretical story, and that's why I need some assistance. I need some suggestions on what could be the best topic to write on these days, especially for established persons in the industry.

If you are seeing this post, please, if you can, give me some solutions. What is in high demand? What kind of story, as non-fictional and non-theoretical, is Hollywood actually looking for? I'm looking to make it. I hope to get some responses

Hi, Somay Gupta. I suggest reading the trades (Hollywood Reporter, Deadline Hollywood, Variety, and The Dailies) to see what's in demand, but I also suggest not chasing trends. By time you write a script and pitch it, the trend might be over. Write what you want to write and what excites you.

You can also read the trades to stay up to date on other things about the industry.

I’d like to see more Horror, Comedy, Horror Comedy, Action, Mystery, and Thriller movies, and I’ll like to see more themes about humans creating art/doing things instead of AI, anti-bullying, and people working together.
