Screenwriting : Writing the 2-Page Pitch by Djamel Bennecib

Writing the 2-Page Pitch

Just finished drafting 2-page written pitches for two of my projects — Scan (a grounded supernatural medical drama) and Paris or Bust (a coming-of-age dramedy set during Christmas).

Biggest takeaway?

The written pitch is not just a summary — it’s a test of clarity. If you can’t distill the heart of your show into 2 pages, something’s not clicking yet in the story.

I was surprised by how much rewriting it took to get the tone right — especially in balancing stakes with character depth. But once it landed, the whole project felt sharper.

Anyone else working on their pitch right now? Happy to trade feedback.

Congratulations Djamel Bennecib that's an awesome point you make, it really is a case of as much heart and soul that went into the script needs to double down on the pitch. Both sound like awesome projects, I wish you the best of luck with them.

Very well said. I will keep this in mind when writing pitches.
