I wanted to share a piece of my journey so far—not as a “formula,” but as a real-time case study in how a story can find its footing without traditional gatekeeping. Pretty Little Lucy began as a psychological thriller screenplay. What followed wasn’t a conventional marketing push, but an organic, creator-led transmedia experiment—where the process, the struggle, the analytics, and the storytelling all became part of the narrative. Instead of waiting for permission, I documented the journey publicly: • sharing fragments of the work •engaging honestly about setbacks and uncertainty •tracking real analytics (what connected, what didn’t) •routing attention intentionally toward professional platforms like Stage 32 and InkTip That approach led to: • sustained peer engagement here on social media • international festival recognition • industry reads that came after momentum—not before I’ve outlined part of that process in this Transmedia Impact & Visibility document, originally prepared for Tribeca NOW. I’m sharing it here as a resource, not a blueprint—because every story (and every creator) is different. LinkedIn post with the document & context: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/david-williamson-6780bb54_pretty-little-l... If there’s one takeaway I’d offer fellow writers: momentum doesn’t always start with access—it can start with intention, consistency, and letting the work be seen before it’s “perfect.” Grateful for this community and the conversations that happen here every day. — David

Congratulations, David Williamson! I've been thinking about doing an unconventional marketing push for a script. This'll help. Thanks.

Thanks so much, Maurice—I really appreciate that.
There’s no single “right” way to do this, but if sharing the process behind Pretty Little Lucy helps spark an idea or gives someone permission to try something unconventional with their own work, then it’s worth putting out there.
Wishing you the best with your script and your push—hope something in here proves useful, even if it’s just as a starting point.
