Award winning feature film about writing for writers. Contains strong language and some violence. Synopsis- Martin is an up and coming writer who has the idea for his first novel. He lives with his girlfriend Kate who truly believes in him. As Martin begins the novel (against some disapproval from novelist and mentor Rod Jonas) he starts to become obsessed with completing his book. Like many writers before him, Martin starts to push away everyone in his life as he spirals into depression, alcoholism and violence. Martin has to realize that to finish his work he must see what life is truly about. Masterpiece is a drama exploring the dark and painful faucet of our existence as a race and why we create.
