Introduce Yourself : My life by Abigail Yates

My life

Hello stage 32! I'm an actress and filmmaker in Nashville, TN. I am not fly by night, this is what I desire to do for a living forever. I have been a performer in one fashion or another since I was a young child of about 8. I started out with dance, then music, then modeling, and acting. I can speak in front of large groups (or small ones). I received a Bachelor's degree in Theater (acting & directing) at Middle Tennessee State University and simultaneously double majored with a Bachelor's in Electronic Media Production to learn about film, broadcasting, all types of video production. My minor was dance, I love to dance. This year I made my first documentary and submitted it for a 5-Minute Film Festival. It was accepted and nominated for a few awards: http://www.vimeo.com/AbigailYates (don't be afraid of the Tip Jar ;) ) I am listed with Sharon Smith Talent in Nashville, TN. This June I will be in New York City to study acting, coming home to attend Film-Com, then revving up to film a ghost story with a fellow producer, at the end of June we are setting up a yard haunt to film, July will be pre-production as well as planning for the Horror art show that will happen the last weekend of September, July I also have a photo shoot, we will most likely film in August, September will be the art show, October I'm heading for LA both to volunteer my time at the Sunscreen Film Festival and to study acting, November I will be filming the 2nd film I want to make before the end of the year and both will be submitted to the Cannes Film Festival for 2016 as I will be there that year and would be in heaven if I could simultaneously have my work shown! I am currently and actively looking for paid work as an actress or part of a crew. I love this business and make my living at it. I am currently working toward my MFA/MBA in Film and Creative Media (Producer's track). You can follow me here or on Facebook: http:// www.facebook.com/FilmAbigailYates I'm currently updating my imdb page and agency page. Will also soon be on Actor's Access and Casting Networks, but am waiting until after my photo shoot tomorrow (and agent approval) so I can use the most recent photographs/headshots. I will share those links on my profile once they are up to par. I hope to get to know and work with many of you. Let's get creative!

Ravi Sadana

Nice to meet you in my imagination, Abigail. I have two scripts ready. My area of expertise is writing about people who want to look at spiritual and human side of life and who also want to learn new techniques in expanding their horizons. Love humans and lead mindbogglingly rich lives. My stories are usually based on real life events and international in nature. Who do I talk to? People may think I'm not in touch with reality. Http://Ournewscience.com/ may give you an idea of what I mean.

Abigail Yates

Thank you Arnaud. I do sometimes squeal with joy! lol

Abigail Yates

Good to meet you Ravi. I took a quick look at your website but it'd take a while to read it all. I'm always intrigued by people's spiritual beliefs.

Debbie Croysdale

Hi Abigail. Interesting intro, and welcome. Windigo looks good material for a feature, creepy and fun, something a bit different. I didn't know about Sunscreen festival, and will be looking into it.

Abigail Yates

Debbie, I actually have more footage and am planning a longer version. I needed this one to be under 5-minutes and by the submission deadline. It was nominated for some awards at the 5-minute film festival it was shown at.
