Introduce Yourself : Hey by Paul Baudler

Hey

Hey all. Hope everyone who celebrates it had a nice thanksgiving. I'm Paul and I write cinematic electronic music. I love writing music. I just joined Stage32 a couple days ago. I'm hoping to get my first work scoring a film or game or such like. I 've always loved music, but probably more so as I've gotten older (currently 25 yo). When I was 16 I developed a deep love for the work of a game composer named Jesper Kyd, who's most known for his OSTs to the Hitman series and Assassin's Creed series. In 2011, he came to my home city as part of a game music podcast run by someone at the local classical radio station. So I got to see him in person then, which was awesome, as I am crazy for his music! He is a profoundly brilliant, innovative composer (of both acoustic and electronic music) as far as I'm concerned. Since then I've developed a similar love of ambient music by Brian Eno and another burgeoning electronic composer who goes by the name Stellardrone. I like plenty of other music, but if I had to pick 3 favorite composers/bands/songwriters, those would likely be them. By now I myself have a decent amount of music written and midi-recorded that I'm quite proud of. My decision to seek scoring work owes partly to the encouraging comments I've received from friends and strangers. Other than music, I also have recently taken up photography, and I am especially interested in astrophotography. To me, there's nothing like being under a superlatively clear, dark sky--taking photos and just getting a chance to appreciate skies free of light pollution and atmospheric disturbance is a treasured experience to me. If I seem like I'm rambling, I apologize. Without a clear set of questions, the above is what seems appropriate to this forum. Regards Paul
