Hello! My name is Willy Sánchez de Cos. I´m really pleased to show you my work as a music composer for audiovisual media. Here, in several examples, including famous movies scenes, I offer you my point of view about how music can be a powerful way to maximize the director´s intention in every scene. After studying many years the work of great film composers, such as Bernard Hermann, John Barry, Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Danny Elfman... I follow different styles, different dramatical intentions, but, in the end, a personal manner of expressing it. I'll be pleased to be in contact with you if you feel interested in my work. Curriculum vitae: Guillermo (Willy) Sánchez de Cos Professional musical studies: I have obtained a "Master in Composition for Audiovisual Media" in the "School of Music Katarina Gurska" (Madrid) and a High degree in Music, specializing in Composition at the Conservatory of Music "Rafael Orozco", Cordoba (Spain). I also possess the qualification of Professional Degree at the Conservatory of Music "Manuel de Falla" in Cádiz, specialty violin. Competitions: I participated as a finalist in the three editions of the "Festival de las Músicas Minúsculas" (organized by M-80 radio program "No Somos Nadie"), being the winner in the second edition, in the category of Best Composition. I have also been a winner in the III Composition Competition "José Salinas" organized by the Conservatory of Music in Baza (Granada) in 2010 and a finalist in the "X International Composition Competition Città di Udine” ( Italy) in 2014, in the composition section for "instrumental chamber group". Dramatic Music: I have composed soundtracks for 17 years for plays, dramatized and poetry readings, storytelling shows, short films, a documentary and three feature films. Technical means: I make my own recordings using different types of microphones (condenser, dynamic and environment) through mixer and using a personal computer. I mainly use acoustic instruments (piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, various types of guitar and wind instruments, percussion, voice ...), in addition to treating and digitally processed sounds to create different sensations according to the dramatic development of the work required.
