Introduce Yourself : Hey! Hale here. by Haley Cusack

Thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. My name is Hale, and I'm doing pretty much half the roles of creating a television series. I'm currently in the early stages of scripts for my webseries, Crescent River. Inspired by the mistreatment of minorities in media, it's driven to flesh out well-developed characters of all different types. Well-written female roles especially, women of color, women of varying sexuality, are all too hard to find in media anymore. Crescent River strives to level the playing field a little for people to find characters they can actually identify with.

I've always been a passionate intersectional feminist and one day, I realized it was high time that rather than getting angry every time I saw a character I identified with being disrespected, I should get even and do something about it myself. So, Crescent River was born. I'm currently looking for people to work with for it, especially people of color as I would really like proper representation for everyone and I don't want to step on people's toes by telling a story that isn't mine. I would specifically love to bring on some women of color into the actual production of the series as well.
