Introduce Yourself : Newbie here! by Thais Duarte

Newbie here!

Hi, everyone.

I've been on Stage 32 for a few weeks now, but finally decided to introduce myself and hopefully make some contacts.

I've been writing for about 10 years as a hobby, however only in the last 4 years is when I realized I could actually pursue a career in screenwriting.

I'm Brazilian, but I'm currently working as a flight attendant in the Middle East and trying to improve my writing in any way that I can when I'm not flying.

I've taken online courses at New York Film Academy, been a semi-finalist in the SeriesFest Featuring Women Initiative competition (in which they partnered up with Rose McGowan) and have submitted to countless other competitions, but of course, I'm still hustling over here, being so far away from Hollywood and all.

My focus is TV, but I'm working on a feature film that is very dear to my heart, at the moment.

I wanna tell the stories of the often overlooked gay women of color, from a radical feminist point-of-view.

Pamela Bolinder , I actually know Thais. We studied together at NYFA. I'll tell you a secret: all the Brazilians in the World get together once a year, so we all know each other, LOL.
